My group and I, recognised that when we rehearse our lines, they sound just as if we are reading them, almost as if we add no feeling to the lines. To overcome this issue, we decided to focus on the sript.
First we decided that the first step was dividing the script into sections and giving the sections a title so we knew what the focus was for each section as in for example in one scene of the play the focus changes within the characters. what i found challenging about this was when the focus was on characters that were not present in the scene, for example the mum, she is nowhere to be seen yet she is mentioned in the play quite a lot as she is who caused the issue in the first place, I asked myself how to make the audience know that i am addressing her without making it obvious. In the script, Debbie Tuckergreen plays with revealing to the audience that they are talking about the mum and instead she uses lines such as "And you from her so what!".
Also when analysing the script we were focusing in the primary and secondary focus. The primary focus was all about knowing the intentions of the character when rehearsing the lines. This was quite challenging because, even though I know what is happening in the scene, Debbie Tuckergreen often reveals the secrets on her plays smartly by not making obvious the secret but just making putting the emotion out there so the audience can figure out what is going on.
We also looked at the purpose of the of the lines, in other words what is the character trying to get out of those lines. I found this challenging as i mentioned before TuckerGreen doesn't spell out exactly what is going on so in order to interpret the character the best way possible me as the actress had to come with my own purpose of the lines with the context of the play.
